I have always been interested in art and have made it a habit to visit museums around the world. Many artists in history have fascinated me and many are my favorites. I have often thought that it would be fun to take a closer look at this world, to understand art, its quality and its qualities.
It hadn't occurred to me that I would start painting, but that's how things happen so often in life. Suddenly you fall through another door and get a new perspective on the world, absolutely wonderful!
I met an artist who was in the UK for a long time and studied art history there and have taken private lessons with her for many years, both in art history and painting technique. First I started working with charcoal, then watercolors took over, but today acrylic suits me best.
It rests my mind to listen to good music, the blues KK and the old masters like Jimmy Reed, Magic Slim, click them on the phone, paint and connect to another world.
Finally I'm starting to learn to back away from the picture when I paint, look closely, predict the colors and maybe create a story around some of the pictures. The world of painting is unique because it is always new in its diversity.
