EVERY PORTRAIT TELLS A STORY
Frúin í Hamborg/Akríl á strig. Stærð; 60×60 c
The Lady in Hamburg (“Frúin í Hamborg”) is a word game for two players. When my family and I went to visit my grandmother in the countryside, which was a long drive away, the game helped us pass the time. The player who starts asks, “What did you buy with the money the Lady in Hamburg gave you yesterday? You must not say black, white, yes, or no.” The other player makes up something they pretend to have bought. The players then chat about it, and the questioner tries to get the other player to say one of the forbidden words in order to win the game. I miss this game – I hope it won’t be lost.
